Our environmental goals
To create a positive impact on the environment and drive our sustainability efforts forward, we have set clear and measurable goals. By focusing on energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, and resource use, we take responsibility for our climate impact within Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 – direct and indirect emissions from our operations and value chain.
Energy efficiency (Scope 2)
Since 2018, we have been using 100% renewable energy in our facilities, a natural initiative to reduce our carbon footprint. We continuously work to improve energy efficiency, for example by replacing older lighting. By 2023, 90% of all lighting was LED, and we aim to achieve 100% LED by 2025.
Transport and mobility (Scope 1 & 3)
Transportation is a significant part of the climate challenge, which is why we focus on reducing both our direct emissions and those in our value chain:
Electric car fleet (Scope 1)
We are phasing out fossil fuel-powered company cars and will have a 100% electric vehicle fleet by 2026. By choosing electric vehicles, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and cleaner air in our cities. To support our staff, we have also invested in several charging stations at our facilities, allowing everyone to charge their vehicles and feel secure in their travels.
Air travel and supplier freight (Scope 3)
Our goal is to halve our air transport by 2030. Starting in 2025, we will offset the carbon emissions of necessary travel, with a plan to gradually extend the compensation to cover other forms of transportation as well. By collaborating with our value chain, we reduce our overall climate impact and promote sustainable logistics.
Waste and resource usage
Sustainable resource usage is crucial to preserve the earth's resources for future generations. Therefore, we aim to halve the amount of combustible waste by 2030. Through increased recycling, improved waste management, and reduced waste, we strive for a circular resource economy that benefits both the environment and sustainable development.
