What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website requests to save on a visitor’s computer. Cookies are used on many websites to provide visitors with access to various features. The information in the cookie can be used to track a user’s browsing activity on websites that use the same cookie. There are two types of cookies. One type saves a file on the visitor’s computer for an extended period, and the cookie has an expiration date. This is used, for example, for features that indicate what’s new since the user last visited the website. When the expiration date passes, the cookie is deleted when the user returns to the site that created it. The other type of cookie is called a session cookie and has no expiration date. While a user is browsing a page, this cookie is temporarily stored in the computer’s memory, for example, to remember which language the user has chosen. Session cookies are not stored long-term on the user’s computer; they disappear when the user closes their browser. (Source: Post and Telecom Authority, http://www.pts.se/)
How we use cookies
We use session cookies to identify corporate users as unique individuals. This helps us track the number of visitors and provides us with statistics and information on how many users are on the site and what they are doing.
