Effective sealing and reduced wear in demanding systems
In a double-eccentric butterfly valve, the shaft is offset in two ways: it is displaced both from the pipeline center and from the disc center. This reduces both friction and torque, while ensuring high tightness. “Eccentric” simply means that the shaft on which the disc is mounted is not positioned exactly in the middle of either the disc or the pipe.
This type of valve is commonly used in systems with high demands for reliable flow control, both in industrial and water utility applications.
Since they are a type of shut-off valve, they can be integrated into both on/off applications and more precise control applications, depending on the requirements and design.

Choosing the right valve for your application
When selecting a double-eccentric butterfly valve, factors such as medium, pressure rating, temperature range, materials, and seat type must be considered. It is also important to choose the right actuator for the application, whether manual, electric, or pneumatic. When selecting a pneumatic actuator, you should choose one with an adjustable closed end position, such as the AL 79.
