Gate valves

A gate valve is a type of shut-off valve used to control the flow of liquids or gases in a piping system. It features a wedge-shaped disc that lowers to block the flow and rises to allow passage. Gate valves are particularly effective for fully opening or closing the flow but are less suitable for regulating it.
