TA-Luft

Technische Anleitung zur Reinhaltung der Luft (TA Luft) is a regulation/standard that aims to classify valve performance concerning leakage of volatile emissions into the atmosphere. TA Luft is a German national directive with an associated testing procedure, VDI 2440. Established in 1964, it remained the only recognized industry standard for valves used to classify volatile emissions leakage until 2006.

TA Luft specifies the allowable leakage levels for a valve stem or packing. However, unlike ISO standards, it does not define the test conditions or the number of cycles a valve must endure to pass a test.
